Dr. Matthew Burke

Meet Dr. Matthew Burke

“I love the variable nature of my day-to-day work and having the opportunity to treat patients of all ages and walks of life.”

Matthew Burke, MD received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Dartmouth College and went on to earn his Doctor of Medicine degree from Albany Medical College. He completed his residency at Brown University and the Robert L. Phillips, Jr. Health Policy Fellowship at Georgetown University. Recently, Dr. Burke has started pursuing an interest in marine science and climatology, which is what drew him to the Hampton Roads area. As a part of this new interest, Dr. Burke earned a certificate in Climate Change and Health from Yale University’s School of Public Health.

In addition to environmental health, Dr. Burke is particularly interested in minor procedures and sports medicine. He chose urgent care because it allows him to treat a variety of diseases and ailments and requires a broad knowledge of the medical field.

A New York and New England native, Dr. Burke loves the Hampton Roads area, but misses cold winters! Outside the office, you can find Dr. Burke sailing, kayaking, cycling and traveling.
